Wedding decor for a November 2026 wedding, for the November 2026 marriage dates guide

November 2026 has only four auspicious Hindu marriage dates by the Drik Panchang calendar for New Delhi: 21, 24, 25 and 26 November. The season reopens only after Prabodhini (Devuthani) Ekadashi on 20 November. Saturday 21 November is the one weekend date, which makes it one of the most heavily booked days of the year. Your family priest decides the final date and time.

Shubh vivah muhurat dates in November 2026

These are the dates and muhurat windows published by Drik Panchang for New Delhi, which checks the panchang conditions for a Hindu wedding: the tithi, the nakshatra, the day and the solar month. Times are for New Delhi and shift by a few minutes in other cities.

DateMuhurat window (New Delhi)NakshatraTithi
21 November 2026 (Sat)6:48 am to 12:08 am (22 Nov)RevatiDwadashi
24 November 2026 (Tue)11:25 pm to 6:52 am (25 Nov)RohiniPratipada
25 November 2026 (Wed)6:52 am to 6:52 am (26 Nov)Rohini, MrigashiraPratipada, Dwitiya
26 November 2026 (Thu)6:52 am to 5:47 pmMrigashiraDwitiya, Tritiya

Some windows run past midnight into the next calendar day, which is normal for a muhurat: the ceremony can be held at any point inside the window. A wedding on the night of 24 November, for example, would have its pheras in the early hours of 25 November.

Why November 2026 has only four dates

The Hindu wedding season pauses for about four months each year during Chaturmas, which begins at Devshayani Ekadashi in the monsoon and ends at Prabodhini Ekadashi, also called Devuthani Ekadashi, in the month of Kartik. In 2026, Prabodhini Ekadashi falls on 20 November, so the first wedding date of the season is the very next day, 21 November. Diwali on 8 November and Chhath on 15 November both fall before it, while the season is still closed.

With the season opening so late in the month, only four dates fit into November at all. That is unusual: in years when Prabodhini Ekadashi falls earlier, November has a dozen or more dates. Our guide to the no-wedding periods explains Chaturmas and the other pauses in full.

Saturday 21 November: the busiest day of the season

Of the four November dates, only 21 November falls on a weekend, and its muhurat runs from 6:48 am to past midnight, which allows a morning, evening or night ceremony. Every family that wants a November weekend wedding is competing for the same Saturday, the first auspicious date after four months without weddings. Expect the best banquet halls, hotels, caterers, decorators, photographers and pandits in every city to be booked for it well in advance, and expect peak prices from anyone still available.

If 21 November is the date your family wants, book the venue and the pandit before anything else. If you have any flexibility, the weekday dates of 24, 25 and 26 November will usually be easier to secure and sometimes cheaper, and the following weekend in early December has more options.

The weekday dates: 24, 25 and 26 November

The three remaining dates run together from the night of Tuesday 24 November to the afternoon of Thursday 26 November, under the Rohini and Mrigashira nakshatras, which are both traditionally favoured for weddings. A Tuesday night or Wednesday wedding suits families who are hosting most guests locally and are less dependent on weekend travel. Many families also choose a weekday wedding with a weekend reception, which spreads the demand on vendors and guests.

Weather and where to marry in late November

Late November is one of the pleasant times of year across North and West India: cool evenings, dry days and comfortable outdoor events. Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra are at their best, and Goa’s season is under way. The exceptions to plan for are North India’s air quality, which is often poor in Delhi and the Indo-Gangetic plain in November and can affect outdoor events and elderly guests, and Tamil Nadu and coastal Andhra, where the northeast monsoon can bring heavy rain in November. A covered back-up is wise for any outdoor event in the south.

For a destination wedding, Udaipur, Jaipur and Goa are the obvious choices in late November, and they are also the most heavily booked. Our Udaipur and Goa wedding cost guides cover what peak-season dates cost.

What a late-November date does to the budget

A date in the first week of a reopening season, with only four options, sits at the top of the pricing curve. Venues quote their peak rates, decorators and caterers stretch their teams across several weddings on the same day, and minimum guarantees are often higher. The practical savings come from the weekday dates, from fewer events across the week, and from choosing a venue that bundles catering and decor. Our wedding cost by guest count guide shows how the guest list drives the total.

Booking timeline for a November 2026 wedding

With November 2026 only weeks away, the planning is compressed. Prioritise in this order: the pandit and the date, because the pandit’s diary fills as fast as the venues’; the venue; the caterer; the decorator and the photographer; then everything else. Our guide to wedding booking lead times shows how far ahead each vendor is normally booked, and for a peak date in a short season, assume the upper end.

A countdown for a late-November 2026 wedding

WhenWhat to lock in
NowPandit and exact muhurat; venue; caterer
Within two weeksDecorator, photographer and videographer; guest room block
Three to four weeks beforeInvitations sent; bridal outfit fittings; mehendi artist
Two weeks beforeFinal guest count to the caterer; transport for guests
Wedding weekHaldi, mehendi and sangeet; rehearsal of the ceremony timing with the pandit

A wedding planned in a few weeks is entirely possible, but it works best with fewer events, a venue that offers in-house catering and decor, and a clear decision-maker in each family.

If 21 November is already gone

If the venue you want is booked for 21 November, there are three sensible alternatives. Hold the ceremony on the weekday dates of 24 to 26 November and the reception on the weekend after. Move to Saturday 5 December or the 11 to 12 December window, which are the next weekend options before the Kharmas pause. Or choose a smaller venue that is still free on 21 November and keep the guest list tight. Our December 2026 marriage dates page lists the next options.

Abhujh dates and Tulsi Vivah

Some families regard Prabodhini Ekadashi itself, and the days around it, as auspicious for weddings without a separate muhurat calculation, and the ritual marriage of the tulsi plant, Tulsi Vivah, is celebrated around this time in many homes. Practice differs between families and regions. Our guide to abhujh muhurat dates explains the idea and where it is followed.

Regional calendars differ

This list follows the North Indian lunar calendar as calculated for New Delhi. South Indian families often follow their own panchangam and muhurtham traditions, Bengali families follow the Bengali panjika, and families everywhere follow their own priest. The dates can differ, sometimes substantially. Our South Indian muhurtham guide explains how those dates are chosen.

Before you fix a November date

  • Ask the family pandit to confirm the date and the precise time from the couple’s horoscopes.
  • Check the venue, the caterer and the pandit are all free on the same date before announcing it.
  • For guests travelling to North India, plan for air quality advisories and indoor alternatives.
  • For a South Indian or coastal wedding, plan a covered back-up for rain.
  • For 21 November, assume every key vendor is close to fully booked and move fast.
