Wedding planning services

Services & Engagement Formats

Three formats. One standard
of execution.

Bespoke partial planning, 10 to 15 percent of your wedding budget. Signature full planning, fixed fee from Rs 8 lakh. Luxury heritage & destination, fixed fee from Rs 25 lakh. The planning fee is separate from your wedding budget and agreed in writing.

Velvet Knot provides full-service luxury and destination wedding planner services across India for families whose total event budget is Rs 25 lakh and above. Packages are quoted per wedding and cover vendor shortlisting, contract negotiation, design, and on-the-ground execution with teams of 6 to 15 professionals. We charge a flat fee.

Velvet Knot specialises in luxury and destination weddings across India, working primarily with families investing in celebrations of scale, design depth, and the operational rigor that multi-day, multi-vendor events require. Our planning packages start at Rs 8 lakh and are designed for weddings with a total event budget of Rs 25 lakh and above.

Who We Serve

Our engagements are typically multi-day weddings with 200+ guests, destination venues, or significant design execution. Most clients are couples and families who want a single point of accountability across vendor coordination, design, and on-the-ground operations. We work across all Indian traditions and travel to wherever the wedding is, from Udaipur palaces to Goa beach venues to Kerala backwaters.

If your wedding is below the scale our packages are built for, we still take the consultation. If we are not the right fit, we will say so honestly on the first call and connect you with a planner from our trusted partner network whose pricing structure is purpose-built for your scale. We would rather your wedding be well-planned by the right team than over-served by the wrong one.

Specialty Engagements

Velvet Knot

Velvet Knot charges a flat professional fee. Planning is quoted as a flat fee for your specific wedding, from Signature full planning through full luxury and destination weddings, quoted upfront before any work begins.

How Pricing Works

Flat-fee, quoted upfront, documented in writing. We do not work on percentage-of-budget pricing because it incentivises overspending. See our full wedding planner cost guide for industry context and how our packages compare.

Cities We Serve

Velvet Knot operates across 50+ cities including Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Udaipur, Goa, Kerala, Pune, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Chandigarh, and Jodhpur. We also coordinate destination weddings at international locations for Indian and NRI families.

Which engagement format actually fits you

The formats above describe what we do. This describes what the engagement feels like from
your side, which is usually the more useful comparison when you are choosing.

How to tell which one you need, honestly

Most couples arrive assuming they need less than they do, then upgrade mid-planning, which
costs more than starting in the right place. Three questions settle it faster than a call.

  • How much is already committed? If the venue and two or three major
vendors are contracted and you are happy with them, Bespoke is the efficient fit and you
should not pay full-planning rates for work already done. If nothing is booked, full planning
is almost always cheaper in total, because the savings come from how the vendors are chosen
and negotiated in the first place.
  • How many hours a week can you genuinely give it? Be honest rather than
optimistic. A multi-day Indian wedding is a part-time job for six months. Couples with
demanding careers who choose partial planning usually end up doing full planning badly,
    themselves, at midnight.
  • How many decision-makers are there? One couple deciding is a
straightforward engagement. A couple plus two sets of parents with different expectations is
a coordination problem, and coordination is the part that benefits most from a single
accountable manager. This is the factor families most often underestimate.

If you are unsure after those three, take the consultation and say so. We would rather
tell you on the first call that you need less than you thought than sell you a format you do
not need. And if your wedding sits below the scale these packages are built for, we will say
that too, and point you somewhere better suited.

What the first call actually covers

The consultation is free and thirty minutes, and couples often postpone it because they
assume it is a sales call they need to be ready for. It is not, and you do not need a brief
prepared. This is what it covers.

  • Where you are. Date, city, rough guest count, and what is already
booked. If the answer to most of that is “we do not know yet”, that is a normal starting
    point rather than a problem.
  • What the wedding is for. Whether the priority is the ceremony, the
guest experience, or the design. Almost every later decision follows from this, and most
couples have never been asked it directly.
  • Who is deciding. How many people need to agree, and where the
expectations differ. This shapes the format more than budget does.
  • What it will realistically cost. Not a quote, but an honest band for
what you are describing, so you can decide whether to continue before either side invests
    time.
  • Whether we are the right fit. If your wedding sits below the scale
these packages are built for, or if what you need is a day-of coordinator rather than a
planner, we will say so and point you somewhere better suited.

You will not be asked to decide anything on the call, and there is no follow-up sequence.
If it is useful, we send a written scope and a fee afterwards. If it is not, that is a
perfectly good outcome for both of us.

Frequently Asked Questions

What wedding planning services does Velvet Knot offer?

Velvet Knot offers three planning tiers. Bespoke is partial planning for couples who have started and need professional support to bring it together. Signature is full end-to-end planning. Luxury and Destination covers heritage venues, palace weddings, and multi-day destination celebrations. All tiers are pan-India and cover every major wedding tradition.

What is the difference between Bespoke, Signature, and Luxury tiers?

Bespoke is partial planning: vendor audit, gap-filling, and professional support for couples already underway. Signature is full planning from venue to execution. Luxury and Destination covers heritage and palace venues, multi-day itineraries, and complex destination logistics. The right tier depends on how much you have done and the scale.

How does Velvet Knot charge for its services?

Velvet Knot charges a flat professional fee for planning. The fee is set by the tier and engagement scope, so you know the planning cost upfront. This keeps our advice independent, since we are not incentivised to push spend or favour particular vendors.

Does Velvet Knot plan weddings outside major metros?

Yes. Velvet Knot covers 50+ cities across India and plans weddings in smaller hometowns and destination locations too. We work remotely with on-ground teams, so the same planning standard applies whether the wedding is in a metro, a tier-two city, or a heritage destination. We also plan for NRI couples coordinating from abroad.

Which wedding traditions does Velvet Knot plan?

Velvet Knot plans every major Indian wedding tradition, including Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian, Jain, Bengali, and South Indian weddings, as well as royal palace, intimate, destination, and interfaith celebrations. Our planners know each tradition’s specific ceremony sequence, so the wedding is correct in ritual as well as in production.

What does a wedding planning engagement with Velvet Knot include?

A full Signature engagement covers venue selection, vendor sourcing and management, budget planning, design and decor, timeline production, guest logistics, and on-the-day coordination. Bespoke covers a defined subset for couples already underway. Luxury and Destination adds multi-day itinerary design, room blocks, and heritage-venue coordination. The exact scope is confirmed before work begins.

How early should we engage a wedding planner?

For full planning, six to twelve months ahead is ideal, and heritage or destination venues are best secured 12 to 18 months out. Bespoke partial planning can start later, even a few months before, when a couple needs professional support to finish. Velvet Knot will tell you honestly whether your timeline is workable for the tier you want.

Who at Velvet Knot will we actually work with?

Each engagement is led by a dedicated planner supported by Velvet Knot’s specialist teams and on-ground coordinators in the wedding city. For NRI, destination, and tradition-specific weddings, the lead planner is matched to that specialisation. You have a consistent point of contact throughout, not a rotating set of coordinators.

Get Started

Every engagement begins with a free, no-obligation 30-minute consultation. We discuss your vision, timeline, budget, and family priorities, and recommend the right format. If your wedding is below our typical scale, we will introduce you to a planner from our trusted partner network on the same call. Request a personalised quote.

What’s included in full-service planning

Every full-service engagement at Velvet Knot covers the same backbone: venue selection, vendor management, budget tracking, timeline coordination, and on-day execution. The depth of each varies by package and wedding scale, but the scope is always written in your proposal so there are no surprises later.

We don’t hide the unglamorous work. Vendor payment tracking, GST documentation, contingency planning for monsoon or last-minute family changes, post-event wrap-up and final settlements, all of it is part of what we do, not invisible labour you find out about later.

Who we work with

Most of our clients are couples planning weddings between 100 and 400 guests, with budgets between 15 and 60 lakhs. We work with hometown and destination weddings across India, and with NRI couples planning from abroad.

We’re a fit for couples who want a planner who will push back when something doesn’t make sense, not just execute requests. If you want a planner who treats every wedding identically, we’re not the right team. If you want one who thinks alongside you, we probably are.
