June 2027 has sixteen auspicious Hindu marriage dates by the Drik Panchang calendar for New Delhi, with weekend options on 5, 11, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27 June. June is the month the monsoon arrives: it normally reaches Kerala around the start of the month and North India around the end. A June wedding therefore needs a rain plan in the south and west, and a heat plan in the north. Your family priest decides.

The monsoon arrives
The southwest monsoon normally reaches the Kerala coast around the first days of June, Mumbai around the second week, and Delhi and the north-west towards the end of the month, though the dates vary from year to year and can be a week or more early or late. That means a June 2027 wedding faces very different weather depending on where and when it is held:
- Kerala, Goa, coastal Karnataka and Mumbai: heavy rain is likely through most of June. Outdoor events need full cover, and Goa’s beach venues are largely closed for the season.
- Bengaluru, Hyderabad and the Deccan: pleasant, with intermittent showers.
- Delhi, Rajasthan and the north: very hot and humid in early June, with pre-monsoon storms, and the monsoon arriving late in the month.
Our monsoon wedding planning guide covers how to plan for rain, from covered mandaps to waterproof decor.
Where to marry in June
June is still a good month for the higher hill stations before the heaviest rain, such as Manali, Shimla and Mussoorie in the first half of the month, and it is the season for Ladakh, where the monsoon barely reaches. Our Ladakh guide covers the practicalities of marrying there. City weddings with air-conditioned indoor venues work anywhere. Beach and lawn weddings on the west coast are best avoided.
Demand and pricing
June is the start of the off-season across much of India, and venues in Goa, Kerala, Rajasthan and the cities often offer their lowest rates of the year. With sixteen auspicious dates, availability is good, and families who are comfortable with a monsoon or a city wedding can secure venues that would be out of reach in winter. Our off-season wedding guide explains how to make the most of it.

Morning or evening in June
June’s windows include mornings, full days and nights. In the north before the monsoon arrives, the evening and night windows, such as 11 into 12, 16 into 17 and 26 into 27 June, avoid the worst of the heat. On the west coast and in the south, monsoon rain often falls in the afternoon and evening, and a morning ceremony, such as on 13 or 15 June, may be drier. Neither is guaranteed, which is why the venue’s cover matters more than the hour.
Decor for a humid month
June humidity is hard on decor. Fresh flowers wilt quickly, so decorators often favour hardier blooms, orchids, foliage and potted plants, and install them as late as possible. Fabric drapes sag and stain in damp air, so lighter structures and lighting do more of the work. Ask the decorator what they would change for a monsoon wedding, and expect a good one to have an answer ready.
Rain plans that actually work
A rain plan is not an umbrella stand. For a June wedding on the west coast or in the south, the ceremony, the dining and the dance floor all need to be under a solid roof or a properly rigged, waterproof structure, with drainage around it. Decor should be chosen to survive humidity: fresh flowers wilt faster, paper and fabric sag, and electrical installations must be weatherproof. Guests need covered walkways from parking to the venue, and footwear that copes with wet ground. Ask the venue how they have handled previous monsoon weddings, and ask to see photographs.
Guests and travel in June
June is still within school holidays in much of India, which helps families travel, but monsoon weather can disrupt flights and roads, especially in Mumbai, Goa and the hills, where landslides close roads in heavy rain. Give guests flexible plans, avoid tight connections, and book the room block for a night either side of the main event. Our outstation guest planning guide covers the logistics.
Regional calendars differ
South Indian and other regional calendars set their own dates. In Telugu and Kannada families, the month of Ashadha, which usually begins in late June or July, is traditionally avoided for weddings, so families from those regions may prefer the earlier June dates or wait for the autumn. The family priest decides.
