A wedding at the JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort and Spa typically runs Rs 80 lakh to Rs 2.5 crore for 300 to 600 guests over two days. It is a golf resort below Nandi Hills, north of Bengaluru, with 301 rooms, a 35,000 square foot convention centre and the Savannah Lawns, listed by Marriott for up to 6,000, which makes it one of the few venues near the city that can host a destination-scale wedding.

The short answer
Budget Rs 80 lakh to Rs 2.5 crore for a two-day wedding at JW Marriott Golfshire with 300 to 600 guests. A wedding of about 300 guests with 150 rooms sits near the lower end; a 600-guest wedding that takes most of the resort, with a lawn sangeet and a large production, approaches the top.
The resort does not publish a per-plate rate. Five-star resort weddings around Bengaluru usually price at Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 a plate per function once taxes and a full menu are included, and that is the band we plan with until the resort quotes. Do not confuse this resort with the city JW Marriott on Vittal Mallya Road, which has its own wedding cost page.
What Golfshire is
The JW Marriott Bengaluru Prestige Golfshire Resort and Spa sits within the Prestige Golfshire estate, a golf course and residential development at the foot of Nandi Hills, north of Bengaluru. Marriott’s opening announcement described 301 rooms and a convention centre of about 35,000 square feet. The setting is the attraction: green fairways, the hills behind and open lawns, about an hour from central Bengaluru and much closer to the airport.
For a Bengaluru family, it offers something the city cannot: a destination-style wedding with guests on site for two or three days, without anyone needing a flight.
The lawns: the capacity question
| Space | Capacity listed | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Savannah Lawns | Up to 6,000 | Marriott events page |
| Savannah Lawns | 4,000 on one listing, 2,000 on another, about 60,000 sq ft | Spalba |
| JW Lawns | About 30,000 sq ft, up to 3,000 | Spalba |
| Convention centre | About 35,000 sq ft in all | Marriott |
The figures differ widely because they describe different layouts: 6,000 is a standing crowd on the whole lawn, while a seated wedding dinner with a stage and buffets fits far fewer. For planning, assume the lawns can seat any realistic Indian wedding, and ask the resort for a floor plan for your exact guest count. Our venue capacity study explains how brochure numbers shrink for a real wedding.
301 rooms
At double occupancy, 301 rooms house about 550 to 600 guests, so even a large wedding can stay entirely on site. That changes the whole plan: no shuttles from the city each evening, everyone at breakfast together, and functions that start on time. Hold the block early on peak muhurtham dates and agree a release date. Our guide to wedding hotel room blocks covers the terms.
Where the money goes
| Line | Typical range, 400 guests, two nights | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Rooms, 2 nights | Rs 30 lakh to Rs 70 lakh | 180 to 220 rooms |
| Food and beverage | Rs 35 lakh to Rs 70 lakh | Four functions at Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 a plate, plus resident meals |
| Bar | Rs 8 lakh to Rs 25 lakh | Two evenings |
| Decor and production | Rs 20 lakh to Rs 50 lakh | Lawns need staging, lighting and power |
| Entertainment | Rs 5 lakh to Rs 20 lakh | A sangeet act, a band, a DJ |
| Photography and film | Rs 5 lakh to Rs 15 lakh | Two days |
| Transfers | Rs 2 lakh to Rs 6 lakh | Airport and city runs |
These are our planning estimates for a luxury Bengaluru resort wedding of this size, not the resort’s quotes.
Three worked budgets
| Wedding | Guests | Format | Indicative total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Resort weekend | 250 to 300 | Two nights, 130-room block, three functions | Rs 80 lakh to Rs 1.2 crore |
| Classic resort wedding | 400 | Two nights, Savannah Lawns wedding, lawn sangeet | Rs 1.1 crore to Rs 1.8 crore |
| Large wedding | 600 | Two nights, most of the resort, premium production | Rs 1.6 crore to Rs 2.5 crore |
The arithmetic behind the middle line: 400 guests across four functions at an average of Rs 4,000 a plate is up to Rs 64 lakh in food if everyone attends everything, usually less in practice. About 200 rooms for two nights at Rs 12,000 to Rs 17,000 adds Rs 48 lakh to Rs 68 lakh. Decor for two lawn evenings and two smaller functions adds Rs 25 lakh to Rs 40 lakh.
Budget by guest count
| Guests | What usually changes | Indicative total |
|---|---|---|
| 200 | 100 rooms, one lawn, three functions | Rs 60 lakh to Rs 90 lakh |
| 400 | 200 rooms, Savannah Lawns, four functions | Rs 1.1 crore to Rs 1.8 crore |
| 600 | Most of the resort, larger production | Rs 1.6 crore to Rs 2.5 crore |
A two-day plan
| When | Function | Space |
|---|---|---|
| Day one, afternoon | Arrivals, welcome lunch | Poolside or a terrace |
| Day one, evening | Mehndi and sangeet | JW Lawns |
| Day two, morning | Muhurtham or pheras, lunch | A lawn with a mandap, or the convention centre |
| Day two, evening | Reception | Savannah Lawns |
Getting there
The resort lies north of Bengaluru on the Nandi Hills side, closer to Kempegowda International Airport than central Bengaluru is, which makes it convenient for guests flying in. From the city centre, expect an hour or more depending on traffic. For a resort wedding, most guests stay on site, but local guests coming for one evening need a shuttle from a central point and a clear finishing time.
Season and weather
The area’s mild climate makes weddings possible much of the year, with the busiest season following the muhurtham dates from November to February and in spring. Evenings below the hills can be cool in winter, so plan shawls and heaters for outdoor functions. The monsoon and the late-year rains bring evening showers, so every lawn function needs a covered fallback, which the convention centre provides. Our muhurat calendar lists the dates that book first.
Food
A resort wedding feeds guests for days, so plan resident breakfasts and lunches as well as the functions. Bengaluru families usually want a traditional South Indian banana-leaf lunch after a muhurtham and a broad dinner with North Indian, Chettinad, coastal and continental counters at the reception. Ask the resort how many live counters it runs per hundred guests on the lawns, and whether a specialist traditional caterer can serve one meal. Our guide to the per-plate cost of an Indian wedding explains how menus and taxes add up.
Decor on a golf estate
The green lawns and hills give the decor a calm, open backdrop. A mandap framed by the hills at sunset needs little else, and for the evening, lighting along the lawn edge and in the trees does more than a heavy floral build. Lawns of this size need staging, power and sound brought in, so ask the resort about generator capacity and setup hours, and plan the layout so guests are not walking long distances between the stage, the food and the bar.
Music and the finishing time
Outdoor amplified music generally has to stop by 10 pm under the noise rules unless a specific permission applies, so plan the sangeet and the reception to peak early, and move an after-party indoors if the resort allows. Agree the finishing time and any indoor late venue with the resort in writing.
Guests between functions
Nandi Hills itself, with its viewpoint and old temple, makes an early-morning outing for guests who want a sunrise above the clouds in the cooler months. The resort’s spa, pools and golf course keep everyone else busy, and golf-loving relatives often book a round on the morning before the reception. Keep the programme light between functions so guests arrive at the evening events rested.
Combining traditions
Many Bengaluru weddings bring together families from different states and communities. With several lawns and a convention centre, the resort can give each tradition its own space: a South Indian muhurtham in the morning and a North Indian sangeet or baraat in the evening. Our guides to Kannada and Telugu weddings describe the South Indian sequence.
Photography
The fairways and the hills behind them give a photographer wide, green backdrops that are rare so close to a city. The hour before sunset is the time for the couple’s portraits on the course, with the hills turning blue behind them, and a sunrise trip up Nandi Hills on the morning after the wedding gives a second, dramatic set. Drones need permission, and the area’s closeness to the airport means flying is restricted in places, so check before booking an operator.
Golfshire against other Bengaluru venues
- Against The Leela Palace: a grand city palace hotel with ballrooms; Golfshire gives a resort setting with lawns and rooms for a destination-style wedding.
- Against Clarks Exotica: another resort near the airport; compare lawns, rooms and pricing.
- Against Taj West End: central heritage gardens at a smaller scale.
Our Bangalore wedding cost guide compares the full range.
Rooms for the families and the morning rituals
A muhurtham or a morning pheras at a resort an hour from the city only works if everyone involved sleeps on site the night before. Allocate rooms close to the ceremony lawn for both families, the priest and the photographers, ask for early breakfast, and keep a suite as a dressing room for the bride. A small hospitality desk in the lobby for the two wedding days, with the room list and the timings, saves the families a great many phone calls.
Who Golfshire suits
It suits a Bengaluru wedding of 300 to 600 guests that wants a two-day resort celebration with everyone on site, large lawns and easy airport access. It is less suited to a single-evening reception for local guests, who would rather not drive an hour each way.
Questions to ask the resort

- What is the rain plan for each lawn function?
- Until what time can music play outdoors, and is there an indoor late venue?
What sits outside the quote
- GST and service charge, if not included.
- The bar and premium beverages.
- Decor, generators and power for lawn setups.
- Shuttles for local guests and airport transfers.
