Getting there

It suits a guest list under about 175 where most people are staying both nights; couples who want the wedding to feel like a long weekend with friends rather than a receiving line; families comfortable with a wellness-led property where the spa and the walks are part of the offer; and anyone whose priority is the quality of two days over the scale of one evening.
It does not suit a 400-guest celebration, a day-guest-heavy format where large numbers arrive for one function and leave, or a family that wants a grand ballroom entrance. The estate is spread across a hillside, which means guests walk, and an older guest list needs buggies and a plan rather than goodwill.
The day-guest point deserves emphasis because it catches Mumbai families out. At a city hotel, half your list can come for the reception and go home. Two hours up a hill road, that is a much harder ask, and the guests who would have dropped in for an hour simply do not come.
